Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about getting started, pricing, and compliance with Continuity Direct.
Pricing & Setup
How does the pricing work?
We use a transparent, site-based licensing model. There are no per-user or per-admin fees. You simply pay a flat monthly rate per site based on the feature tier you select—Essential (£275), Business (£495), or Enterprise (£895). Because expediting information flow is critical during a crisis, this model ensures you can invite your entire workforce without worrying about escalating licence costs.
Is this a mobile app or a website?
It is both. Continuity Direct provides a secure, web-based dashboard for Incident Managers and Administrators to command the situation from a desktop, alongside native iOS and Android apps for staff to report their status, execute tasks, and receive push notifications in the field.
Can I import my users and teams?
Yes. We provide easy-to-use CSV templates to bulk import your users, teams, contacts, and even full incident response plans directly into the system.
Do we need to train all our staff to use the app?
No. The mobile app is designed to be highly intuitive under pressure. When an incident occurs, employees simply tap a clear status button ("I've Evacuated", "I'm Not at Work", or "I Need Help"). Only your Incident Managers and Administrators require familiarisation with the web dashboard to configure plans and manage the response.
Compliance & Security
What is a "Contemporaneous Record" and why do I need it?
A contemporaneous record is a tamper-evident, timestamped log of all actions, decisions, and communications made during an incident. In regulated industries, this immutable audit trail is critical for post-incident reviews, regulatory inquiries, and legal defence to prove due diligence and compliance with procedures. Continuity Direct generates this automatically.
How does Continuity Direct help with ISO 22301 compliance?
Continuity Direct digitises your Business Continuity Management System (BCMS). It enforces documented operational planning (Clause 8.1) through automated Incident Plans, supports clear response structures (Clause 8.4) via Gold/Silver/Bronze command hierarchies, and maintains an audit log for post-incident performance evaluation (Clause 9). You can also run the system in "Exercise Mode" to log your mandatory testing and drills (Clause 8.5).
How does the app assist with Health & Safety (HSE) requirements?
The platform provides real-time workforce visibility and digital mustering. During an evacuation, staff instantly report their status via the mobile app. This gives Incident Managers an immediate, accurate headcount mapped to specific Assembly Points, demonstrating duty of care and fulfilling strict life-safety compliance requirements.
Are we compliant with GDPR if we put staff details in the app?
Yes. We act as a Data Processor. We provide built-in tools for data minimisation, right-to-erasure (hard deletion functionality), and granular Role-Based Access Control (RBAC). Furthermore, sensitive incident context can be isolated from standard notifications to prevent unauthorised exposure of personal data.
Do you support Single Sign-On (SSO) via Active Directory?
No. We intentionally do not integrate with corporate systems like Active Directory for SSO. We maintain "Logical Isolation" so that if your primary corporate network is compromised (e.g., by a ransomware attack), Continuity Direct remains fully accessible and operational to help you manage the crisis.
Is my data secure?
Yes. Your data is held on secure cloud infrastructure in the jurisdiction you choose (UK, EU or US), with AES-256 encryption for data at rest and TLS for data in transit. Our platform is built to align with ISO 27001.
